While I don't usually post much on Ukrainian music in North America, one band's name in particular caught my eye. They are from Winnipeg, Canada and they call themselves the Zrada Cultural Academy and it seems that they are preparing to go into studio this spring to prepare their first full length album.
I'm looking forward to hearing what they have to offer and given they include the standard guitar, drums and bass, they also have traditional Ukrainian instruments. Should be interesting...
The band is composed of the following members:
Andriy Michalchyshyn - guitar, trumpet etc....
Taras Babiak - bass
Mikhas Chabluk - violin/skrypka
Steve Sirski - drums
Dobryan Tracz - guitar
Everything is constantly in flux, from the music we listen to, to the politics and society around us. uaMuzik is a reflection on Ukrainian music, politics, society, the food I create and technologies.
